Certainty
Cannot conceal the way I feel
My Family has given up the real
For what's perceived a better deal
Birthright given for one hot meal
Alone with education's purse
Outside this great big universe
Repeating mantra's or happy verse
If this is hell than nothing's worse
Smiles fade replaced with truth
Seeking endless pursuit of youth
Heightened madness in length of tooth
Numbing fog of sweet vermouth
To taste my unnecessary tears
Despair repeats forgotten years
Playing upon our darkest fears
Bidding listen as great sleep nears
But hope what part in fool's romance
When passion calls to one last dance
Certain knowledge of life askance
Heightened pleasure in circumstance
Look to the deep and not the sky
With company of the fallen cry
In works to heaven's door they vie
My call to land shipwrecked deny
To peace I pray the Lord will lead
Light a fire and plant a seed
Overcoming life in choking weed
My Lord you are all that We may need
