Rivals

Victory in weakness
and softness strength
Who wishes to fight
when right calls to any length?

Courage and brother fear
share the same breath
Dimes drop, passions falter
invited to the valley of death

Sinuous heart torn
and pieces to shred
The chance to be broken
on pursuits we are led

Feet that stand in peace
Must find battle's ground
For the victory we seek
is there to be found

To live in fear, doubt or love
and overcome all
avoiding the precipice
to jump or to fall

Beautiful. It touches the soul in a way that most probably don't think about: how strength can be a part of what we consider weakness. How victory doesn't always come from headstrong pushing towards a goal. At least, this is what I see in it. And even with the fall at the end, it isn't about failure to me. I see hope and beauty and perfection from the steps that are taken in the poem. Thank you! Truly, thank you!
