Will
How do I know
the true voice of God?
Discern the path of peace
With which my feet are shod
Do I divine him on the wind?
tasting every breeze
Or hear his voice quite plainly
As I'm down upon my knees
Are his words the sparkling eyes
Of each child I behold?
Or is the truth wrapped in reason
From the wise and often old?
Should I look to a tree, a mountain
or some sky?
Or maybe one person has the answers
to my what, my how and why
The truth is in the looking
The quest for what is sought
In the grandeur of his making
All things that he has wrought
But remember even if you don't hear him
He walks with you each day
and will be present in your actions
and the things that you must say
But only if you're willing
to give the truth a chance
Release the steering wheel
Before he takes it from your hands
