Rekindled
Do you know me?
Asked the neighbor of the dove
I'm the girl you've passed by nightly
Who's almost fallen in love
Can you see the promise
Written on my heart?
The one I've shared with no one
Not even the greatest part
See the signs of superstition
Carved out symbols on my arm
Make it plain the pain internal
Loud sirens and snooze alarm
She stumbled over nothing
Her tiptoe turned to sprawl
Rabbits foot and lucky nose ring
Both break upon her fall
See love's not to be awaited
As if something that comes along
A dance for which we're created
A voice to perfect song
Love is to be given
to any that are in need
And in its brief returning
You find the golden seed
Please forgive the unbridled wanting
And tears to pillows dread
Searching and relentless hunting
Love misinterpreted
