Dare

Let go of the dangling strings of my prayer shawl
I will rise, asking mercy for the nations while declaring
Their misguidance
Turn back I say to the face of righteousness
Walk again that road you know leads to peace
When men forget honor
Children stumble
When the strong forget the weak
All is consumed in selfishness
How can we be so confused when our pylons are solidly rooted
at the birthplace of the universe?
If in my tears you see weakness then check your heart
If in my overwhelming joy you think infirmity then
why do you reach for me as you lose footing?
If my song is too loud as I tell of his glory then
do not seek to silence only listen
and hear of his wonder
For my heart is securely wrapped and fed by the love that birthed a world
My hands guided by kindness and the joy of human touch
And my song that of a man glorifying the holiness of God
While he watches over us as we nap on garden grasses by the sycamore
we know him for a moment and are safe
This is peace and I will raise my voice and stand
Against those who would have us forget what is right
Palsy has no purchase and fear is not my friend
Let them paralyze another victim
I will wear the brilliant spiritual armor
Of Christ and go where he leads
Into victory, singing at the top of my voice
Empowering the weak, chastening the proud and coordinating our tempest
For it is by his will we breathe, his victory table
we find fulfillment and in his arms we find rest

Jim, this is, maybe the most touching and powerful thing I've ever read. Donovick told me where to find you. May I share this sometime, when I have a mike and feel it's appropriate?

Thanks,
Dave
