I don't know

The hardest thing I've ever done
To give up fighting even though I'd won
The golden heart of dreams
Would be relinquished it seems
For truth greater than my wanting

Long have known what's right
Struggled every day and each night
To fight off the whispers within
Promised silver nothing but tin
Hacking instead of just bunting

Try to stand still for one hour
You want the true meaning of power
A woman on the run from her master
At full speed yet wanting to go faster
Solving nothing but delaying her pain

Your father said no but you're persistent
If you'd ask he'd say you're resistent
To the care with which he protects you
To save you from all that rejects you
Finding wisdom is losing to gain
