Hope is a demonstration of faith
For without it you cannot have believed
That all things which have been broken
Could ever have been achieved

My heart says yes to life with you
Although it may be without
But I will not give up the battle
Even when it looks like total route

Because I do not live from scarcity
An impoverished mind will not receive
That the dreams of great abundance
Were not just make-believe

So with you painted on my heart
I walk closely to this life
With the positive feelings and the comfort
Of living with you as my wife

I may not see or hold
The things upon my heart
May not see them until I'm old
Right now is time to start

So fight it if you must
And pretend that it won't come
Before I return to dust
My thumb shall have the plum
