Don't whisper in the middle
Of a fight

Singing at the sirens
Coaching criminals
To justice

My attempt was fine
But found my shot

Failed so many times in love
Lacking the
Approach of a dove

Dripping water relentless
Should mighty river slow
to accommodate the asking

Maybe another should have said it
A more pleasant voice
Than my own

But I have seen how
Gentle lambs are led
To slaughter
