Boatride
I keep forgetting
And then regretting
Remembering there's no way
To force the river
And as I float bye
Wishing for deep rye
I recall that it's not the receiver
That's the giver
Voices of reason
Says it is right to be pleasin
The worry that follows
My row boat
But I hear another
Like Father and Mother
Which tells me it's enough
To just float
I can't do better
By getting wetter
And jumping ship
to land without knowing
The vow is stronger
Though it takes longer
The place that I am promised
So much sweeter
