Kids
There is no replacement
For the colors and the hues
Honest little mouths
Correctness in their views
Sordid tales told plainly
Wounds and wishes shared
Astounded by the commonplace
Publicly declared
Tears of joy and sadness
At the instant they are felt
Bridles of the world
Shed with the hearts they melt
See him in their clarity
My name in the reflection
Honey flavored center
Shrouded by protection
Consumers of the moment
Absent of the past
Creative tiny fingers
The universe so vast
Make the world smaller
Put it in a box
Or in titanium locker
Beside their whispy locks
Crisp and fresh as morning
Pure water and the air
Hopeful smile of a child
Nothing can compare
Return us to the moment
When we first found grace
Explosion of bright colors
Dreams of outer space
All is possibility
Somewhere down the road
Everything that's perfect
With Chocolate ala mode
