Love is
That which hands over the reins
Knowing and trusting
Those in power
Will not leave you bleeding
Poor, disabled or regretful
voluntary weak
Chancing such poverty
For the reward
Of its intimate gift
And the opportunity
to see upon that face
the safe, comfortable smile
of the truly loved
