Silence your feet

It's hard to remember not to get angry
Taking ground from opportunistic despair
I lick my chops at the thought of intervention
Knowing that the outcome seems fair

Does the fly on the wall resent life?
Because he sees and hears greater detail
Will it make use of the bigger picture reasoning
Will fear and realization cause his wings to fail?

It makes no sense to watch the game
If the plays and possibility make you anxious
Especially when all things are right
With your feet dangled from the dock

I would much rather you be right
Than for me to explain or prove it
Understanding is in ears that listen
Eagles do not explain flight to fox

So the door may lead to darkness
And although you pray for light
Maybe what you should be asking for
Is the power to see at night
