Admiration

Look at me said that bee as he landed on the pale pink backdrop
I can move about so quickly from place to place and carry pollen on my hands and face
I defy gravity and the physics denying me flight
And there are few that wish to engage me in fight
I bring life to the flowers that make my hive a sticky site
I am an anomaly to be whispered about with reverence
None have wings so light and a body so dense
I am striped like the tiger and rival spider's dexterity
I am a rarity of creation
And I show no pause to self applause
Like Narcissus I alone am favored
Beyond the mercy granted or savored
By flys, crawlers and slitherers
Wishing they could be a bee like me
