Up on top

Interesting he said as he wandered around her head
Look at this and that, no wonder it fits so well in your hat
What about these forgotten dreams here and there
You left them lying around as if you really didn't care

It gets pretty dark but it seems that it stays warm
The roof seems like it wouldn't leak even in an awful storm
The murals painted fresco decorate the halls of thought
And the scars are purple and puffy from all the wars you fought

But nothing rattles round except the silence of your fear
And the tatters of your failure that you recall so clear
The electricity and plumbing operate up to par
As long as all of the signals don't have to travel too far

It is pretty on the outside but so much more so in here
All the thoughts of birds and flowers is why it would appear
And look at the sweet daydream with all the happy smiles
The clearest brooks and streams meandering on for miles

How handsome his tuxedo with his top hat and tails
A seen from a great ballroom in Luxembourg or Wales
All the dancers enchanted and spinning round the floor
So these are the things that created the smile we adore
