Listen to the urge
When that same old feeling of nausea or anxiety
Grabs you by the seat of the pants
Or the fear that tends to cause ya new piety
Makes you fidget as it raves and rants
You have to do something about the stimuli
So that you can get a good night's rest
But as you struggle to loosen the knot in your tie
The pain just gets worse in your chest
So you run away from nothing with all in tow
Looking for a peaceful spot to set up
But each and every place that you want to go
The same things appear to get you fed up
Wishing for clarity you give everything to charity
Then try to hum your mantra to awareness
It's hard to find parity when your thinking lacks verity
Your filters just deprive you of all fairness
Then when you have had enough you turn to professionals
Thinking that their diplomas will suffice
They give you new material to share in the confessionals
But nothing cracks the surface of the ice
Do you fall back on to the old behaviors and tools?
Or do you seek to do it different for once
Will things get better using the same old rules
Don't you see that's the reasoning of a dunce?
You've got to know you're crazy before you can heal
It's just like admitting you're a drunk
Seeing the wound is part of determining what is real
And the secret to changing the way you've thunk
Sit down with yourself and write it all out
Taking care to ask kindly for insight
Then when the wiring begins to reroute
Thank him for helping you win the fight
There is nothing more important than becoming complete
Filling that hole that you feel deep inside
It's the one thing in life where you cannot cheat
And can't be filled by food or a bride
So call all the people that you can depend on
And bring them all together to plan
Then take your position and put your helmet on
Because in this challenge you're a player not a fan
