Reluctance
I am sorry that you never got to know me
Or let me see the things that you had to show me
The least I have to give is underneath my hat
I never had the chance to illustrate all that
Fact and fiction blend, creating what I have inside
The things this world forced me to conceal and hide
But a bigger voice inside my head now controls the tide
The opening to my heart is greater than a mile wide
Unfortunately for me I will never get the chance
Without you now my friend I do a solo dance
I'm truly glad you got to be the boil's lance
I rigidly follow a willingness to change my stance
Wherever this life takes you to I am always there
An incessant fly that buzzes round your ears and hair
You came into my life as answer to my constant prayer
A humbling fact I have begrudgingly become aware
If love were to look like someone it would be your face
Absolutely glad that we got to share both time and space
I may get a little further but you truly set the pace
I'm so thankful he sent you to me through his loving grace
