Love light switch

I made someone paint with all of her heart
I may have been impetus in creation of art
All of my problems put on the scale
Viewed in comparison seem rather pale
And know that you affect me
In the very same way
That's why when you asked
I said I would stay

My mountains are granite
They're not made of shale
When asked for a lifetime
I won't just turn tail
The road may be slippery
Or on shaky ground
But the foundation of our friendship
Will always be sound

See running is in me but never away
You can count on my heart
And the fact that I'll stay
When something needs fixing
I'll find the right words to say
But I'll not try to hurt you
To win for a day

I love with my heart
and not with my head
And try not to get hurt
by the things which are said
See it has two settings
The switch on my heart
One is to stop and the other to start
And once it is turned on
I am there til the end
I will never abandon
Someone I call friend

So I am grateful to love you
With all I possess
Then it can only be true
Nothing left to confess
If I say that I love you
Remember this rhyme
That the love I have for you
Is there for all time
