Dust Jacket

Break me out
Partners of passion free
Lept the desert to
the roaming sea

Work your wonders
Damsels and anvils night
Crossed my heart
to cover me

Rub the stars
Oh coattails of midnight
Worked your magic
through time

Paint with dreams
The scopes collide
While questions form
about nothing

The dancing man
Wetted lips on forest fountain
While children prayed
for ghosts

Believers held
Hosting brigands took
The passage to
your daydream

Pencil sharp
A preacher's whistling
Watching from
the portico

Lizard hot
On beds of basted mercury
While iron falls
from clouds

The driest stalk
Scratched leather satchel
Please paint for me
the passage

On my back
While others row
Pondering your
dark places
