The courage to fail
It is not about the successes because we know that you will have enough strength to get there. I am more concerned about your willingness to fail. Are you prepared to stand there broken or lie on your back defeated? Do you have what it takes to tell them that they were right when they told you that you'd never make it? Can you cry the salty tears as your dreams fall down around you? Is your ego ready for the shame that comes along with losing hold of the rope halfway to the top or having to cry out in the dark for help until someone comes to save you? Can you persuade your friends and family that some external factor destroyed your careful plans? Will you forgive yourself for lacking strength to carry your process to the end or reach the summit of your wishes? Are you prepared for the onslaught of "I told you so's" and "you were never good enough's" that will inevitably come when you let them know you came in fourth? Will you keep some energy in reserve each time you go for the finish line because you have decided that giving your all is too costly? Are you prepared to take what you're given and do something mundane for which you were not suited but that is entirely safe? Will you be satisfied to come here to this planet for your one chance to get it right and spend your time performing someone else's purpose or keeping it simple, because that is easy? Satisfied? You have to have the courage to fail along with the desire to succeed to ever get to the place specifically designed for you. Dream large, fail proudly and walk like you mean it. Know that he is with you, always.
