Is control to you like a comfortable shoe?
That you would use to keep your dog in place
Do you follow through in all that you do?
To master those around you in space

If you had blue eyes would you look to the skies?
And be thankful for the beauty inside of you
Do you think it wise to burn bridges and ties?
When the years that we have are so few

In Luke we were told when we're given gold
The job is to increase it not hold it
Dismiss these words as old or see the wisdom they hold?
Because if you don't use the talent you lose it

Do you feel it's your task to keep the wine in the cask?
Waiting for the perfect moment to taste it
I really must ask if you have mistaken the task
Safe in your arrogance you can't face it

Do you attempt to conceal all the feelings you feel?
Because they are against some moral code
Are value tones real to show the wounds you must heal?
Or will you simply stand in the middle of the road?

See their words often hurt but like dirt on my shirt
