No Fables without purpose

I just can't fool you anymore. My feet are shackled by the folly I adore. I have carried the fine filigree robes of man greater than me trying to be something I will never be. I am simple at heart and mind full of peace. I am here for the duration not the term of the lease. This land has been purchased by those better than I. I'll never be worthy but I will certainly try. Here is my hand and if you need it my shirt. I will bandage your need and console your hurt. See me or don't I am still what I am. Without all the bling and none of the glam. If they called me a tree I'd like to be oak. Or a great big seqouia above all the smoke. I'll give you shade from the hot desert sun. Protect you from cold when the Winter's begun. And when I stumble could you please tie my shoe. Or tell me joke like you so often do. See we're in this together this life you and I. Whether we laugh or we grumble or sit down to cry. Here is my marker to put in your bank. When it's time to be thankful it's you that I thank.
