Going in to a quiet Christmas week

I am not an ethical relativist. That is not to say that I do not adhere to the importance of cultural differences, but there are some lines I will not cross even if the Romans say it is what they normally do. Christmas is about the birth of one of the greatest figures in the history of our mankind. Count the names of individuals that have impacted our civilization for thousands of years and you will only have a handful. Then ask yourself how many of those names are spoken by thousands of people every hour of every day. At this point you begin to realize the extent of Christ's impact on the free world. Why is Christianity treated with less respect than the other religions? We would not call Rahmadan, X-madan so that everyone could participate without acknowledging its reference to Allah as the one God of the Muslim faith. This is not the crusades. The last time I checked people do not accept religion or put their marker down for a God because they have a sword over their head. They do it because they believe. You ask me to prove that there is no God or that Christ was not the Son of God. Well, I ask you to prove that God does not exist or that Christ was not the son of God. It is the same argument. However, there exists tons of evidence toward the existence of God and the acceptance of Christ for what he is. Where is your evidence? Do you wish for me to accept your argument on the faith that you believe that God does not exist or that Christ did not give his life up freely to save us from our frailty as humans? Either way you look at it this argument comes down to what you believe to be the truth and that is something that is personal to each man, woman or child. For the record the date December 25th represents the birth of Jesus the Christ of God and if you wish to participate in that date at least have the respect for us as Christians to acknowledge that you have chosen to participate in our celebration of the birth of our savior. We will offer you the same respect for the things that you hold as personal truths. Be safe, have a great time with your family and friends and God blessings on us all for this coming year.
