Deaths and lives
What a day for the world. A clear reminder of how precious and tenuous this life really is. One moment children were playing, the sky was blue with a gentle breeze blowing while fisherman set their nets. The next families were separated for the rest of this lifetime, friends were friendless and the world had gone to chaos. Oh how difficult to see the parents of lost children. What we do now will demonstrate the true nature of our human spirits. Will we finally realize that we are of the same family, living on the same relatively small spinning rock, breathing the same air and drinking the same water or will we return to the practice of only caring for those within our national or ratified treaty boundaries? There are no parameters for compassion. Surely, there will be those that refuse assistance, but that should not be for the lack of offer. I pray for softened hearts and time to heal the massive wound that in an instant transformed history.
